GOOD FOOD, GOOD MUSIC, GOOD VIBES!

Street Social is back - and this time we’re filling our space with South Asian vibes!
We’re opening the doors of our collective Fitzroy North home, for a night of street snacks, incredible DJ’s and a whole lotta community. With a menu dreamed up by our kitchen and all the places they call home, we’ll be serving everything from roti bread dipped in Mey’s island peanut sauce and fried chicken drumettes with tomato sambal, to Shayama’s Sri Lankan dhal and a sweet pandan coconut pudding. And to make the night extra special, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Kerfew collective, to bring you an incredible DJ line-up that’ll have your ears and hearts singing, ft. Ceylon, DJ Trinco and yus.f.

Tell your friends and family, and come along for an evening of cosy fireplace hangs, delicious food and casual seating a plenty, so you can chill and connect with others, who, like you, have travelled far to feel close.

  • Kerfew is an Australia-wide creative collective of South Asian musicians, designers and broadcasters (together, artists) who use art as a vehicle to explore, reimagine and celebrate the cultures and stories that are shaped by the uniquely Australian South Asian diaspora experience.

  • Creating sets that amalgamate Detroit house, Amapiano and South Asian inspired drum and bass, Ceylon built her DJ career and in and through the growing Ngunnawal/Ngunawal music scene. Playing alongside the likes of Vegyn, Bambii, Skin on Skin and Peach and as the previous host of the Lovely! Nice! Show on Canadian radio station n.10as Ceylon promises a set filled with all things lovely and nice.

  • DJ Trinco, originally hailing from Perth and now rocking the scene in Melbourne, is an upcoming Sri Lankan DJ renowned for his eclectic mixes. His music is a unique fusion of Baile Funk, Afro, House, R&B, Hip Hop, and Desi edits. Coming from a Sri Lankan background, DJ Trinco brilliantly reflects his roots while blending global music influences, creating a vibrant soundscape that keeps the crowd moving.

  • Originally hailing from Meanjin/Brisbane, yus.f is now a Naarm local, immersing himself in vibrance and multi-faceted nature of the big city. Finding inspiration in all walks of the musical landscape as a multi-instrumentalist, producer, mix engineer and DJ, it is ever present that groove is the key. Favouring the downtempo flavours of house, breaks and minimal, with a large dose of organic percussion that pays homage to his Pakistani roots, yus.f always brings smooth groove and vibe to the floor.

"I loved how inclusive it was and how easy it was to socialise and make friends on the night...As a CALD person, these are the types of social gatherings that temporarily heal my homesickness."
